The Vessel

I

Light

Exposure to visible light degrades the biological life of raw honey.

Over time, it breaks down volatile aromatics, alters the aroma and colour, and slowly destroys the enzymes.

II

Violet Glass

Miron violet glass is the only glass that filters light selectively.

It blocks the visible, degrading light, while admitting a narrow band that sustains and prolongs the natural qualities of honey. The violet glass is keeping the honey's own stored energy, its aromatics and enzymatic activity.

The principle is old. Violet glass vessels were used in ancient Egypt to preserve oils and essences.

III

Darkness

Potency, aroma, colour, texture last longer in the dark jar.

Natural products stored in violet glass retain their qualities significantly longer than those in clear or brown glass, plastic or aluminium.

The glass is the preservative.
